Association Vekabo
In het Groen is part of the association Vekabo. Vekabo stands for Vereniging Kampeerboeren. Indeed, camping is where it all started at Vekabo. Our origins lie on Walcheren in Zeeland, where in 1972 a number of farmers had the idea 'Holidaying on the farm, that's possible with us!' No sooner said than done. The group of farmers who started a camping facility soon expanded and together formed an association.
On 6 January 1981, Vekabo saw the light of day. And entrepreneurs in other provinces soon followed. Since then, the association has over 700 small campsites and accommodation facilities, throughout the Netherlands (and some beyond).
